If it was tweeted yesterday, then it’s old news today. That’s why it’s essential to have someone dedicated who can handle updates as they happen. What’s the point of tweeting press releases for your clients a day later when it’s already out there? If you do that, you’re just plain old news, too.
Pick a topic and stick to it
It’s hard to be the first one that said it about everything, so don’t. You like baseball, stick to baseball; you’re in PR, well, you get the gist. For us in PR, while we will tweet about things that happen for our clients, which can sometimes be automobile and sometimes chocolate, the point is when you’re not tweeting for them, make sure you become a resource for your industry.

Things are changing in a heartbeat these days, especially when it comes to social media. That’s why you couldn’t possibly go to university to study it. By the time you graduated, you’d be out of speed. To become an expert today, you need to seek out the knowledge and make sure you keep doing so.
It’s hard to stay on top, when one day vacation can mean you’re out of the game. That’s why you should hire someone whose job it is to literally eat, breath and sleep social media.
