We let the facts do the talking.

From 3000BC to Museum of the Future – museums connect our past to our future

Part 2

Continuing our listing of the best heritage destinations, we have enough to keep you reading interestedly.

Through artefacts and archival photographs, the ‘Dubai Creek: Birth of a City’ house shines a light on the interesting goings on witnessed by the creek throughout time, the diversity of its natural resources, and the vision of its leaders.

The Perfume House introduces visitors to the age-old methods of manufacturing essential oils and Emirati perfumes. Perfumery is what the region has been known for around the world through yesteryear and beyond.

Etihad Museum is another location that holds historical significance. Known in other circles as the Union House, it collects, preserves, and displays Emirati heritage in the areas of social, political, cultural, scientific, and military history. It holds everything from old passports to personal artifacts of the rulers of United Arab Emirates. The historic signing of the Constitution of the United Arab Emirates, the raising of the first UAE flag, and the formation of the United Arab Emirates as a country on 2 December 1971 took place within the area that forms the museum today.

One of the showpieces of the entire country lies south-west of all of this, where The Louvre Abu Dhabi is located. The jewel of Gulf art galleries, this 24,000 square-metre behemoth in Saadiyat Island allows eyes to be laid on timeless and contemporary work from such artists as Édouard Manet, Abel Grimmer, Vincent Van Gogh and Leonardo Da Vinci.

Looking beyond the present, we have the astonishing aesthetic that is the Museum of the Future. A hub of immersive experience, innovation and learning, arguably the most beautiful building in Dubai, it represents the progressive nature of the cultural thinkers in the United Arab Emirates and helps to define the future role of the museum.

These spaces will live long with us as technology advances and discoveries continue.
