Revealing details of the world’s first ‘sportainment’ destination on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK).
What is it?
The 100-acre Real Madrid Resort Island will come complete with luxury hotels, a marina and an amusement park with the latest in technology. It will feature a roller coaster that projects over the water, hologram soccer movies and Sea World-like dolphin shows.
There will also be a 10,000-seat stadium, and like many first’s made possible by the UAE, it will be the first one to open directly to the sea. There will also be sports facilities, a club museum, a shopping mall, private beaches and places to reside.
When will it be ready?
They plan to open their doors in January 2015, so it’s not too far off until we all can experience the thrill of one of the world’s most famous football clubs.
Will any of the players be there?
Zinedine Zidane and Emilio Butragueño.
